Our Story
Fried Skewers are a kind of popular street food in many places in Asia. Kwafood is inspired by traditional Sichuan spicy flavours and has developed many products popular with younger generation.
The first Kwafood Fried Skewers shop was opened in Beijing in 2018. Now it has over 2000 stores in China and worldwide including Sydney, Melbourne, Milano, New York, etc.
Kwafood are proud of our authenticity and quality. We use a special flavored oil directly imported from Sichuan, which is marinated with dozens of local spices and herbs. Most of our skewers are hand made with quality Aussie beef, lamb and chicken.

Frequently asked questions
Q 1 / What's the total investment?
The initial investment for a site depends on a range of factors, including your location, area of exclusivity, condition of the property, etc. Typically ranges from $150,000 to $250,000.
Q 2 / How is a typical Kwafood Store like?
Typically 15-30SQM in a high foot traffic area. Most of our stores opens up at 11am and close by 8pm or even 11pm. A small Kwafood Store team typically include a chef (frying and seasoning), a cashier (operates register and manages product display) and a kitchen help (prepares skewers). If you opens into late - you may need two shifts of the chef and the cashier role.
Q 3 / Do I need prior experience in the retail food business?
We do not require any previous hospitality experience although prior experience can be valuable. KwaFood will provide comprehensive infield training ensuring you have all the tools to succeed. The passion and drive of the franchisee is always the most important elements of success.
Q 4 / As a franchisee, am I required to actively operate my store?
Yes! For a store to be successful, it is essential that the franchisee is personally involved in all aspects of the business. You must be wiling and able to perform all sales, drink preparation and management functions which will require a significant time investment. Running a store is a compulsory requirement for Kwafood franchisees.
Q 5 / Will I be able to sell my store in the future?
Yes! Your store is yours to sell. Your franchisee agreement outlines the requirements for a sale, and the prospective buyer will need to go through our standard recruitment, qualification and selection process.
